Abstract

This report presents the findings of an archaeological and historical resources survey for a natural gas pipeline replacement and relocation project. The reconnaissance took place in southeastern Douglas and west central Fulton Counties, approximately six miles southeast of Douglasville, Georgia at the Chattahoochee River. The reconnaissance was designed to locate evidence of possible cultural deposits occurring within a pipeline right-of-way and to provide information as to the origin, size, and significance of any such deposits. As a result of the reconnaissance, no significant cultural resources that would prevent the undertaking of the pipeline replacement and relocation were found. The Division of Archaeology recommends no further cultural resources work for this project.
