Abstract

TerraNext was contracted by the NorthStar Team to perform a Phase I Cultural Resource Survey for the proposed Cellular Tower Location designated Yahoola Creek (GA-1744-B) in White County, Georgia. A pedestrian and vehicular reconnaissance survey of the proposed expansion area was conducted to determine the possible existence of cultural resources, including archaeological sites, historic buildings and other resources, and cemeteries. The survey was performed by Dustin Biddle and Bea Schrottner on October 30 and November 12, 2003. Bea Schrottner served as the supervisor of the project. The survey was completed in compliance with Georgia Historic Preservation Division guidelines.

The proposed location for the cellular tower at the Yahoola Creek Site is situated at 2721 Hwy 115 E. in Cleveland, Georgia. The proposed tower is to be 195 feet in height and of monopole design. The site is depicted on the USGS 7.5 topographic quadrangle map "Leaf, Georgia". Due to tower height and location, the Area of Potential Effect (APE) was set at one mile from the center of the leased tower parcel, which is located at: latitude 34°-35'-39" and longitude 84°- 43'-03" (see Figure 1).
