The complete Spout Springs widening project was designed under P.I. No. 0009679. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has allocated funds to construct this project; however, due to the limited availability of ROW funding, GDOT has split Spout Springs widening into two units, Phase I and Phase 2. Phase I will retain P.I. No. 0009679 with termini just south of Union Circle and at the Interstate 985 interchange ramps, for approximately 3.2 miles. Phase 2 of this project, from 700 feet south of Thompson Mill Road to south of Union Circle for approximately 2.9 miles, has been programmed and assigned a P.I. No. 0015280. The total project length for both phases would remain approximately 6.1 miles.
