The proposed project consists of intersection improvements at SR 12 and CR 700/Young Rd. in DeKalb County. The project will improve the skew angle of Young Road and SR 12/Covington Highway from approximately 56 degrees to more than 70 degrees. A dedicated left turn lane will be added to southbound Young Road. Sidewalks will be added to both sides of SR 12 and Young Road throughout the length of the project. Also, the left-turn bay from eastbound SR 12 to northbound Young Road will be increased from 180' to 560' in length. Existing right-of-way (ROW) and proposed ROW is 100 ft. for SR 12; existing ROW and proposed ROW for CR 700/Young Rd. is 80 ft. Permanent easements are anticipated.
