The proposed± 11.19-acre borrow pit is located on the west side of State Route (SR) 87,just north of the roadway's intersection with SR 257 in Bleckley County, Georgia. The proposed pit location was within an area with hardwoods and pine trees with some clearing. The pit is accessed via an existing 120-foot haul road that runs north from SR 257. The area investigated for this management summary includes the proposed borrow pit and haul road.
