Phase 1 Archaeological Survey of Proposed Resurfacing along State Route 50 in Quitman County, Georgia

Abstract

The proposed work will take place along a 2.723 mile section of State Route (SR) 50 in Quitman County beginning at the Georgia/Alabama State Line and ending approximately 718 feet east of SR 27/SR 29 (Figure 1). The proposed work consists of milling, patching, resurfacing, striping, installing raised pavement markers, four-foot earth shoulder filling, and curb cuts to install wheel chair ramps. The project will take place within existing Right-of-Way (ROW), which varies throughout. The limits of construction will be 5 feet from the edge of pavement. Work on all bridges with concrete decks will be limited to restriping only.
