Abstract

"In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project NH-00MS(157), Dougherty County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places

(NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect.

The proposed project would consist of the replacement of the existing guardrail and anchorage at selected sites along US 19/ SR 3 and SR 520 Business in Dougherty County. Also included in this project is the upgrading and repair of the existing guardrail at various locations along these roadways. No slope work would be necessary for the completion of this project. All construction will be limited to the existing right-of-way. An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted along the entire project corridor.
