Abstract

Archeological Assessment of a Cobb/Cherokee County Tree Removal Project. This project consists of clearing, grubbing, vegetation, and tree removal along 1-575, beginning at the 1-75/1-575 Split in Cobb County and ending at the Cherokee/Pickens County Line. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way, no new right-of-way will be required. Total project length is approximately 29.95 miles.

Tree removal specifics:

Designated (beetle infested) trees plus buffer areas shall be cut on the outside shoulder in the southbound direction from milepost 9.39 to milepost 9.17 where approximately 600 trees would be removed. Southbound from milepost 11.83 to milepost 11.36 approximately 800 trees would be removed. Northbound from milepost 15.10 to milepost 15.20 approximately 59 trees would be removed for an approximate total of 1,459 trees.
