Abstract

Archeological Assessment of a Coffee County Resurfacing Project. This proposed project consists of the milling, resurfacing, restriping, installing wheelchair curb cut ramps, and grading earthen shoulders of SR 268 beginning at SR 32 (M.P. 0.00) and ending at SR 3/US 441 (M.P. 9.68). All work will take place within the existing right-of-way with no new right-of-way required. Total project length is approximately 8.937 miles.

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project CSSTP-M003-00(369), Coffee County, Georgia, has been surveyed with respect to archeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify, and evaluate the significance of any archeological resources within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect.
