In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project IR-75-3(161) Ct. 2, Catoosa has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor.

This project is the proposed lowering of the grade under I-75 bridges on S.R. 146 and Scruggs Road. At the S.R. 146 location the existing facility will be widened to accommodate an additional turning lane. The intersection of the Frontage Road with S.R. 146, in the southeast quadrant, will be relocated approximately 300 feet to the northeast. At the Scruggs Road location the existing grade will be lowered on the existing 2-lane facility. At both locations right-of-way will be required; at Scruggs Road 10 feet per side of the existing facility, for approximately 1500 feet. At the S.R. 146 location, 15 feet per side of the existing facility will be required for 1100 feet; The Frontage Road will require 100 feet of new right-of-way.
