Abstract

Archeological Assessment of a Dodge County Resurfacing Project. This project proposes to resurface, install rumble strips and construct 2' paved shoulders on SR 165 beginning at SR 117 (M.P. 8.89) and ending at SR 27/US 23 (M.P. 19.49). All work will take place within the existing right-of-way, with no new right-of-way required. Total project length is approximately 10.6 miles. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800. 16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
