Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project FR- 029-1(22) & IR- 75- 1(1 47), Peach Co. , has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. The project s propose to widen S.R. 49 from approximately 1000 feet southwest of Gassett Road to just east of I- 75 and the relocation of a service road south and east of the I-75/S.R. 49 interchange. The project is about 1.2 miles long and a corridor consistent with the proposed right- of-way was surveyed.
