Abstract

The proposed project would consist of the widening of 1st Avenue and Bay Street in the City of Brunswick. The proposed widening would begin at the intersection of US 341 /New Castle Street and First Avenue and proceed west along First Avenue to Bay Street. Then, the widening would continue north along Bay Street to Prince Street where it would end. The existing typical section for both 1st Avenue and Bay Street consist of two 3.6m (12 ft) travel lanes, one in each direction with urban section. The proposed typical section for both 1st Avenue and Bay Street would consist of four 3.6m (12 ft) travel lanes, two in each direction urban section with 6 .1m (20 ft) raised median.

The existing right-of-way for 1st Avenue consists of approximately 24.4 meters (80 ft). The proposed right-of -way for 1st Avenue would consist of approximately 33.5 meters (110 ft). The existing right-of-way for Bay Street consists of approximately 27.4 meters (90 ft). The proposed right-of-way for Bay Street would be approximately 45.7 meters (150 ft). Total project length would be approximately 0.64 km (0.4 mile).
