Abstract

Archeological Assessment of a Carroll/Haralson County Resurfacing Project. This proposed project consists of resurfacing, milling, and grading on SR 113 beginning at SR 274 in Carroll County and ending at SR 120 in Haralson County. Existing earth shoulders would be reconstructed at variable depths and the existing shoulders would be scarified to a depth of 4'. Al l work will take place within the existing right-of-way, no new right-of-way is required. Total project length is 7.850 miles. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
