Abstract

Archaeological Assessment of Project NHS-M001-00(087), McDuffie and Columbia Counties, Milling, removing and replacing the outside concrete lane, resurfacing the inside lane and adding 2 foot shoulders along guardrail sections, to include removal of vegetation from clear zones along Interstate 20, from the intersection of SR 10/US 78 in McDuffie County to end at the McDuffie/Columbia County line, for a total length of approximately 11 miles. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Authority (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Division of the Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800. 16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the NRHP.
