Abstract

Archaeological Assessment of a Clayton/DeKalb County Bridge Maintenance Project. This proposed project consists of removing and replacing various joint systems from 2 1 bridges in Clayton and DeKalb Counties. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way and from the bridge decks with no new right-of-way required. Listed below are the locations for the bridge joint maintenance project. I. l-675 @ SR 138; US 23; Evans Drive; Ellenwood Road; Norfolk Southern Railroad; Grant Road; East Conley Road; Cedar Grove Rd; Henrico Road; 1-285. 2. 1-285@ Henrico Road; Moreland Road; 1-675; Southern Railroad. 3. 1-85 @ North Fork Peachtree Creek and 2 U-turns. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
