Abstract

From August 28 through September 22, 2017, R.S. Webb & Associates conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey of the proposed 110-hectare (271-acre) Price Road development in Henry County, Georgia for Corblu Ecology Group, LLC. The project area consists of two noncontiguous tracts: a northern tract approximately 93 ha (231 acres) in size and a southern tract of approximately 16 ha (40 acres). The proposed undertaking will require a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Clean Water Act (33 U.S.C. ยงยง1251 et seq.) permit, and therefore, compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) (Public Law 89-665; 80 STAT.915; 16 U.S.C. 470). Under the NHPA, a cultural resources survey is conducted to determine if cultural resources (e.g., archeological sites, historic structures, etc.) eligible for the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) would be affected by the proposed project. Cultural resources within the project area were assessed for significance using the NRHP eligibility criteria set forth in 36 CFR Part 60.4. In addition, the cultural resources survey was conducted following guidelines set by the Georgia Council of Professional Archaeologists (GCPA) (2014) and the U.S. Secretary of the Interior (Federal Register 1983).
