Abstract

The proposed project would replace two structurally deficient steel deck bridges on CR 196/Mt. Airy Road over Ossahatchie Creek in Harris County, Georgia (Figures 1 and 2). This bridge project {ID#145-5021-0) was originally planned as part of the GDOT Low Impact Bridge Program (LIBP) which aims to provide expedited project delivery for least complicated bridge replacement projects that require no environmental permits and no acquisition of additional right-of-way (ROW). The project was rejected for the LIBP program when it was decided that additional ROW would be required to complete the bridge replacement. Existing ROW measures 60 feet either side of the centerline of Mt. Airy Road, and the amount of additional required ROW or easement is not yet determined.
