Abstract

RS-2933(1) and M-1924(1), Laurens County: This transportation project has been surveyed for historic resources in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto. Project RS-2933(1) consists of five laning (two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane) on new location from S.R. 31 south of Dublin eastward to a point on Oakwood Drive (see attached map). This section crosses S.R. 19 and the Oconee River. Project M-1924(1) consists of five laning (two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane) from the termination of RS-2933(1) on Oakwood Road northeast and connecting with S.R. 26. The project would follow the existing roadway to S.R. 199 where it would be constructed on new location. This section crosses S.R. 29. Project RS-2933(1) is located in a rural area. The Seaboard Coastline Railroad and the Oconee River are crossed by the project. Project M-1924(1) is located in an urban area consisting of recent housing. The Central of Georgia Railroad is crossed by the project.
