In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project S.R. l 666(9) Cobb County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. This project is the proposed widening of State Route 293, Main Street in Acworth. The project begins at the junction of State Route 293 and State Route 92 and extends southeasterly to Rockdale Drive. The existing two lane facility will be widened to three 12-foot lanes for a distance of 1.21 miles.
