Abstract

The proposed project on 1-16/SR 404 would begin in Candler County at SR 57/Exit 98 then continue easterly to an end point in Bulloch County at SR 73/Exit 116. Proposed maintenance activities include shoulder reconstruction, resealing of roadway joints and seals, restriping, and replacing rumble strips. All work will be restricted to within the 1-16/SR 404 existing right-of-way; no required right-of-way or easements will be needed for project implementation. Pursuant to the September 2007 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
