Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto. project BRS -0880 (6), Haber sham County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources. especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate. identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the project corridor. This is a bridge replacement and approach improvement project on S.R. 197 over the Soquee River. The project will begin on existing alignment. Approximately 400 feet west of the river and continues on existing alignment to approximately 300 feet east of the river. At this point, the proposed alignment shifts slightly north of existing to a point 1100 feet east of the river, where the project will terminate. A 200-foot corridor was surveyed for the project length.
