Abstract

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed an Archaeological Assessment for the federal undertaking at the subject site. The proposed undertaking would include a proposed approximate 60-foot by 60-foot (18-meter by 18-meter) tower site area that would include a 199-foot overall height monopole telecommunications structure and associated ground-level equipment. The proposed undertaking would we located within a 58,657 square-foot (5,449 square-meter) parent tract that TowerCom V plans on purchasing. For the purposes of this

archaeological assessment, the entire parent tract was evaluated. The subject site is located at 306 Luxomni Road, Lilburn, Gwinnett County, Georgia.

This archaeological assessment was conducted in order to ascertain whether the proposed undertaking, on the project site, might directly or indirectly affect cultural resources, if any such resources exist. During our database research, we identified three previously recorded archaeological sites and nine survey reports within our standard 1-mile background research radius. None of the sites or surveys were identified within our project’s APE for direct effects.

During the course of the field survey portion of this archaeological assessment, no archaeological cultural resources were encountered.

We conclude that the undertaking would not affect any historic or prehistoric archaeological resources that are listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Therefore, for archaeological cultural resources, we recommend a finding of No Effect for the proposed undertaking at the project site.
