Archaeological Assessment of District 3 Railroad Grade Crossing Improvement Projects: the proposed project would improve 51 existing railroad grade crossings throughout District 3 by installing standard roadway signs and utilizing new safety markings on existing pavement. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way; no new right-of-way or easements will be required. This project consists of renewing and/or improving highway signage and pavement marking at 51 highway-railroad grade crossings. The signage and markings warn road users of the crossings or otherwise improve road user safety at the crossings. The crossings consist of all main track crossings of the CSX Transportation line between Union City and Cordele that are equipped with automatic flashing lights and gates and located within GDOT District 3.
