The Phase One project area encompasses the intersection of Candler and Glenwood Roads, 1,000 feet in each direction (from just north of Eastwood Drive to Glenwood Road; from just east of Glenhill Place to just west of Hopper Street on Glenwood Road). It represents a portion of a comprehensive streetscape program for the Candler Road Corridor. The Phase Two scope will complete the corridor from Memorial Drive to Panthersville Road. The project will occur within the existing rights-of-way except where permanent construction and maintenance easements will be required to install all proposed street trees and landscape plantings. All construction will conform to the regulations of the ADA. Improvements completed by Phase One will be the standard for the remainder of the corridor in Phase Two. These public improvements in combination with an overlay district will encourage positive and appropriate redevelopment along the Candler Road Corridor.
