Abstract

The proposed project consists of widening and reconstruction of SR 32 from approximately 1,800 feet west of CR 296 eastward to the western city limit of Douglas in Coffee County, Georgia (Figures 1 and 2). The existing right-of-way (ROW) for this project measures approximately 45 feet either side of centerline of SR 32, and required ROW varies from approximately 65 to 90 feet either side of the centerline. Since the previous surveys in 1992, 1999, 2008, 2014, and January 2018 the project has been revised to include two parcels to be purchased due to the inability to identify the location of their septic systems (Figures 2 and 3}. Any portions of the parcels not used for the project will be considered remnant parcels. This report serves to document the archaeological survey of these new locations.
