Abstract

Archeological Assessment of a Hall County Intersection Improvement Project. The proposed project consists of improvements to the intersection of l-985 and SR 11/US 129. Various locations along SR 11/US 129 at the I-985 interchange will be widened so dual tum lanes may be created. In addition, a traffic signal will be installed at the I-985 southbound on-ramp and SR 11/US 129. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way with no new right-of-way required. This project consists of the addition of turn lane improvements on the 1-985 northbound off-ramp which will include dual left turn lanes to US 129/SR 11. On US 129/SR 11 to 1-985 northbound and southbound onramps-dual lanes on the ramps will included as part of this project. An additional left turn lane will be added in the median beginning just west of the US 129/SR 11 bridge over 1-985 for the southbound 1-985 ramp. Also included, is a signal installation for the US 129/SR 11 at the 1-985 southbound on-ramp and signal improvements at the 1-985 northbound off-ramp to US 129/SR 11. An interconnection plan for the signals located on US 129/SR 11 at the on-ramp and off-ramp will be part of this project. This project is currently scheduled for the March 2007 letting.
