Abstract

On June 2, 1977, the author conducted a pedestrian survey of approximately four (4) acres of land scheduled for exchange with Dr. F. O. Garrison. The project area consists of a wooded 200 foot by 800-foot strip on Chenocetah Mountain, Habersham County, and lies at an elevation of 1700 feet. Discussions with local informants revealed that the tract was once used as a picnic-recreation area. Evidence of such use is demonstrated by the presence of a paved road, picnic shelter, and cement tables on the tract.
