Abstract

Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc., conducted an archeological survey of a proposed expansion of the tract of land on which the Wolfskin Volunteer Fire Department is located. This expansion consists of about 0.15 ac that adjoins the existing tract to the east. The tract is located on the north side of Wolkskin Road in western Oglethorpe County. The area of expansion is completely wooded and was investigated by excavating five shovel tests on 10 m intervals through the narrow parcel. No artifacts or other evidence of archeological sites was found. Thus, we conclude that the proposed undertaking will have no adverse effects to significant (eligible) archeological sites.
