Abstract

On Saturday, September 25, 1978, a field crew consisting of Dr. James W. Stoutamire, Robert Karwedsky, and Katharine Gedris conducted an. archeological survey of ten to fifteen acres to be acquired by the City of Thomasville, Georgia for use as a city park. The area in question is located in the Northwest portion of Thomasville to the north of Chatham Drive, east of Woodland Drive, and included Magnolia Park (Figure 1). No archeological or historic remains of significance were found either through surface search or sixty-three shovel tests.
