Abstract

This report summarized the results of a cultural resources survey of the town of Shenandoah, Georgia. The study features a background overview of the prehistory and history of the Shenandoah property, a predictive model of site location, and the analysis and results of a field survey of 10 percent of the 5200 acre area. The survey discovered that the area was largely marginal to prehistoric populations, but has become occupied more heavily throughout the historic period. Specific information on the cultural resources, both archeological sites and isolated finds, is included along with the evaluation and recommendations.
