Abstract

On March 28, 1983, the author conducted a cultural resource survey of Tract XTCHR3-1 in the Brasstown Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest. This survey discovered a prehistoric site of the Late Woodland Period represented by the Candy Creek (1000 BC-500 AD) and Connestee (200-600 AD) Phases. The site appears to retain intact cultural deposits and is recommended for further testing to determine cultural integrity prior to any adverse effect.
