Abstract

A cultural resources survey of 2.26 acres was conducted on the northenmost end of Butler's Point, Saint Simons Island , Glynn County, Georgia during May 1986. The survey covered the proposed Site of a marina and dry boat Storage area and was designed to recover information sufficient to assess the impact on cultural resources of the development. One Site was located. This consisted of a multicomponent aboriginal shell midden. Two features were located within the midden area. Additional testing was not recommended due to low cultural density. The proposed marina and dry boat storage will not impact historical resources associated with the antebellum plantation which are located to the south of the project area.
