Abstract

Archaeological survey, including pedestrian survey and shovel testing, was performed on a proposed transmission line corridor. The corridor was 16.5 km long, 22.9 m wide, and traversed portions of Fayette, Fulton and Coweta counties in the Piedmont of Georgia. One isolated find and eight archaeological sites, three of which appear to be potentially eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places, were located. Dateable components include Late Woodland or Mississippian and nineteenth century historic. Recommendations are offered for management of the potentially significant cultural resources.
