Abstract

On January 26, 1987, David L. McCullough, staff archeologist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, conducted an intensive cultural resource survey of Proposed Easement No. DACW21-87-1215 in McDuffie County, Georgia. The easement is proposed in order to issue a lease to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to construct a boat ramp on the Little River arm of J. Strom Thurman (formerly Clarks Hill) Lake at U.S. Highway 78. One prehistoric archeological site, a small, surface, lithic scatter, was recorded. The site, 9Mf47, is not eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
