Abstract

During the fall of 1993 cultural/heritage resources surveys were conducted on the Chestatee Ranger District in portions of Compartments 511, 512, 513, 516, 526, 555, 580, 581, and 583. A total of 783 acres in Union and Lumpkin Counties, Georgia were surveyed prior to timber harvesting activities on the Chattahoochee National Forest. Two recreation projects were also completed during 1993 as well, which are the Horse Camp and the Archery Range. Five new cultural resources were located. Three of these are recommended as potentially eligible for the National Register.
