Abstract

During February 1994 cultural heritage resources surveys were conducted on portions of Compartments 364, 379, 385, 401, 409, 410, and 411 on the Brasstown Ranger District, Chattahoochee National Forest. A total of 355 acres in Union County, Georgia were surveyed prior to timber harvesting activities. Five new cultural resources were found and two are considered potentially eligible for the National Register. It is recommended that these sites be protected and avoided during the timber sale. These four timber sales will have no effect on any significant sites.
