Abstract

The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests recently completed a cultural resource inventory of approximately two acres for a proposed culvert replacement project on the Consasauga Ranger District in Murray County. The fieldwork involved intensive archeological survey of the proposed project's area of potential effect to identify and evaluate cultural resources and assess project effects on recorded properties. Fieldwork was completed in September 2007 and one previously unreported archeological site was recorded. The site represents a transportation structure associated with New Deal federal relief projects and is recommended as ineligible for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).
