Abstract

A cultural resources survey was conducted on the 26-acre Johnson Tract 164, on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers managed land at Lake Hartwell, in the Reed Creek Community of Hart County. It was done under a Corps of Engineers permit to the Northeast Georgia Boy Scout Council prior to construction of a proposed Scout Camp under permit at that location. The survey reported two cultural resource sites, both of which were late 19th to early 20th century occupations, and neither were considered eligible for nomination to the National Register. Thus cultural resources clearance for the proposed Boy Scout Camp is recommended.
