The State of Georgia recently acquired the Hardman Farm and property along the Chattahoochee River south of Helen, Georgia, in White County (Figure 1). In addition to the historic house and outbuildings, the property includes the Nacoochee Mound, a widely recognized North Georgia landmark. The property is managed for the State by the Department of Natural Resources. Restoration of the historic buildings is currently in progress.
