Abstract

The proposed project is to design and construct sidewalk improvements along Marietta Street between Peachtree Street and Park Avenue West (a.k.a. Foundry Street) and Centennial Olympic Park Drive between Marietta Street and Luckie Street. Project activities are planned to be within the existing right-of-way including associated sidewalks. Project purpose is to improve the comfort and safety of pedestrian traffic through one of Atlanta's downtown key visitor and tourist routes. This route connects the Centennial Olympic Park area with Underground Atlanta and Five Points. Anticipated sidewalk improvements include replacing existing concrete/decorative sidewalk pavers and curb improvements, "greening" the corridor with new planters, flower baskets, and street trees, adding new pedestrian lighting and refurbishing existing street light poles, installing new trash cans and banners, refurbishing crosswalk markings, and electrical repair of pedestrian signals.
