Abstract

This is a GDOT report short form for negative findings for a Phase I Archaeological Survey of Holcomb Bridge Road and Alpharetta Highway Intersection Improvement Project Area in Fulton County, Georgia. The proposed project would improve the intersection of SR 92 (Holcomb Bridge Rd.) and SR 9 (Alpharetta Highway) in Roswell, Fulton Co., GA. On SR 92, the project would extend from Mansell Road west of the intersection to Old Roswell Road east of the intersection for a distance of approximately 2,910 ft (0.55 mile). On SR 9, the project would extend from Commerce Parkway north of the intersection to Mansell Circle south of the intersection for approximately 2,700 ft (0.51 mile). The proposed project would add a variable width, raised, grassed median, additional left and right turn lanes to the intersection, improve existing turn lanes into area shopping centers and side streets, add new traffic signals, and improve existing sidewalks and bus stops. The project would also relocate the intersection of Houze Road and SR 9, located north of the intersection, approximately 250 ft north of its existing location. Existing ROW is approximately 100 ft on SR 92, and approximately 80 ft on SR 9. The proposed ROW would vary, with a maximum width of approximately 130 ft on SR 9 and approximately 160 ft on SR 92.
