Abstract

Phase I Archeological Resources Survey Cobb Parkway Pedestrian Improvements. The proposed project would enhance existing pedestrian facilities on both sides of Cobb Parkway from Spring Road/Circle 75 Parkway to Akers Mill Road. Project plans include redesign of the current sidewalks, as well as crosswalk and median improvements to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations. The total project length would be approximately 3,747 feet (.85 mile). Because of the nature and scope of the undertaking, the geographic area of potential effects (APE) will be limited to the existing right-of-way (ROW) of Cobb Parkway, which varies from 170-250 feet wide (refer to attached location map). The APE was defined as a corridor stretching 25 feet on either side of the existing pavement of Cobb Parkway. The northwest corridor terminus is the Spring Road/Circle 75 Parkway intersection and the southeast terminus is located at the intersection with Akers Mill Road. There were no sites recorded within a 1-km radius of the project area.
