Abstract

Original: The proposed project would improve the safety and operation of the intersection of Old Conyers Road with Flat Rock Road in Henry County. The intersection currently is controlled by all-way stop signs. A traffic light would be installed to improve the safety and traffic operations at the intersection. Along Old Conyers Road, both the eastbound and westbound lanes would be widened to provide left turn lanes. In addition, the eastbound lane would be widened to include a right turn lane and the westbound lane would have a channelized right turn lane. The existing lane widths vary from 10-12 ft and the proposed lane widths would be 12 feet. The existing ROW would vary from 70 to 100 ft. The project length along Old Conyers Road would be approximately 1,850 ft (0.35 mile). Along Flat Rock Road, a northbound and southbound left turn lane would be constructed. In addition, a right turn lane eastbound on Flat Rock Road would be added. Existing lane widths vary from 10-12 ft and the proposed lane widths would be 12 ft. The existing ROW along Flat Rock Road is approximately 60 ft. The proposed ROW would vary from 60 to 80 ft. The project length along Flat Rock Road would be approximately 960 ft (0.18 mile). See separate sheet for project changes.

The APE for the project includes everything within the proposed construction project length and within the maximum extent of the existing and required ROW as described above and on a separate sheet.
