Abstract

During the period of July 31 through August 3, 2006, R.S. Webb & Associates conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey of the proposed Mulberry Creek Regional Sewage Facility in Hall County, Georgia. The project area is broken into non-contiguous corridors that stretch from the existing Flat Creek Sewage Disposal Station to a point on the Mulberry River floodplain approximately 610 m southeast of the WFOX radio tower.

One archeological site (9HL517) and one historic structural resource (HS-1) were recorded. Site 9HL517 is a 20th century historic artifact scatter with a Middle-Late Archaic component. Historic resource HS-1 is a shotgun house.

Archeological site 9HL517 is recommended ineligible for the NRHP. Resource HS-1 is recommended potentially eligible for the NRHP. No adverse effect is anticipated to HS-1 from the proposed undertaking. No further work is recommended at either 9HL517 or HS-1.
