Abstract

This project investigated two transects along the CR 183/Plantation Road Bridge over Coldwater Creek in Elbert County, north of Elberton. The Georgia Department of Transportation plans on replacing the current bridge. Transects were placed on both sides of the road along the 600-foot (183-meter) corridor, approximately 33 feet (10 meters) from the current right-of-way. The APE for the current project is a 600-foot (183 meters) long corridor centered on the CR 183/Plantation Road Bridge over Coldwater Creek in Elbert County. Existing right-of-way consisting of 40-60 feet (12-18 meters) and up to an additional 100 feet (30 meters) of proposed right-of-way were investigated along both sides of the road within the corridor. The APE was situated adjacent to agricultural fields to the north of the bridge, and sloped areas south of the bridge.
