Abstract

The project investigated two transects along the SR 77 Bridge over Falling Creek in Elbert County, south of Elberton. The Georgia Department of Transportation plans on replacing the current bridge. Transects were placed on both sides of the road along the 4,000-foot (1,219-meter) corridor, approximately 33 feet (10 meters) from the current right-of-way. The APE for the current project is a 4,000-foot (1,219-meter) long corridor centered on the SR 77 Bridge over Falling Creek in Elbert County. Existing right-of-way consisting of 80 feet (24.5 meters) and up to an additional 100 feet (30 meters) of proposed right-of-way were investigated along both sides of the road within the corridor. The APE was situated adjacent to rolling hills and slopes, as well as residential lawns.
