Abstract

The proposed intersection improvement is part of Henry County's Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) program. This intersection improvement project proposes signalization of the intersection, the addition of exclusive right turn lanes on the northbound and southbound approaches of State Route 155 (SR 155), and the addition of left and right turn lanes on the eastbound and westbound approaches of Fairview Road. The left-turn capacities on SR 155 would be extended from the current 90 feet to 310 feet. All lanes would be 12 feet in width. Shoulders would be 2-foot paved and 6-foot grassed. The proposed right-of-way would be 100-130 feet on SR 155 and 80-100 feet on Fairview Road. Temporary construction and driveway easements would also be required on SR 155 and Fairview Road. in several locations. The proposed project limits for the SR 155 and Fairview Road intersection improvements are as follows: 1,048 feet north and 1,037 feet south on SR 155, and 880 feet east and 895 feet west on Fairview Road.
