The proposed project consists of improvements to the intersection of SR 53 and Rockwell Church Road/CR 4 just north of the city of Winder. Improvements would include the realignment of SR 53 to improve the sight distance and the construction of left turn lanes on the northbound and southbound approaches of SR 53. The project would begin approximately 0.201 km (0.125 mi) north of the intersection and would end approximately 0.201 km (0.125 mi) south of the intersection. The existing right-of-way is approximately 24.4 m (80 ft). Required right-of-way would be approximately 30.5 m (100 ft). An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted along the entire project corridor.
