A heritage resources survey was completed for the Longleaf pine restoration project on the Conasauga Ranger District. Sixty two acres are planned for restoration in Stands 41 and 43 within Compartment 933. Six sites are within the project area. Three new sites were found as well as three previously recorded sites are known within the area. Previous surveys from 1984 covered the entire current project area however, due to lack of survey coverage in the 1984 survey, these areas were re-surveyed. Three sites are the previously recorded sites and of these three sites, only one was recommended for additional work.. There are three new sites. None of these are recommended as eligible for the National Register.
